Summary: This undergraduate-level course discusses the geographical dimensions of rural/urban livelihoods in the face of socioeconomic and environmental change in developing regions, with one unit focusing on Africa with a theme of livelihoods under change and stress.

 

Topics Covered: Livelihoods and conflict in Africa; traditional and local conflict resolution and livelihood recovery; natural resources and peacebuilding; park-people conflicts in highland Thailand.
