Summary: This course introduces the linkages between natural resources, conflict, and peace; it also lays a foundation for further specialized coursework and professional experience.

 

Topics Covered: The course asks students to assess the natural resource dimensions of conflicts; to identify and evaluate opportunities for cooperation, conflict prevention, and conflict mitigation; to consider methods for resolving conflicts related to natural resources; and to analyze efforts to integrate natural resources into efforts to build resilience and lasting peace.
